Concert Bands; East and West Memorial Day performances

Just a reminder that this Monday coming will be the Memorial Day Parade performances.

Students will be receiving flipfolders for their music from the school.

If students don't already own a Lyre (music stand that attaches to their instrument) they should take their instrument into the music store to match up their model with a lyre that will fit. Often students buy lyres with out checking the fit and find out too late that the lyre they bought doesn't work with their model instrument.

East Brass Ensemble

The Wed. 5/23 rehearsal is cancelled but the Wed. 5/30 rehearsal is our last rehearsal before the June 5th East concert. Attendance is a must.

West Brass Quintet

We are rehearsing Tues. 5/22 and 5/29 for the Gala 5/30.

West Jazz Ensemble

There is rehearsal Tues., 5/22 and 5/29. Please be aware we will be performing next week @ the following commitments;

Volunteer chaperones are needed

NYSSMA Majors (Concert Band) is quickly approaching and we need to firm up our chaperon list. We have a few names but we could use about 7-8 more people. If your available that would be great. You may email me at tcassera@smithtown.k12.ny.us.

Music Man Orchestra pit rehearsals

This week's rehearsals will begin @ 4:00pm. This means being warmed up, tuned up, and completely prepared to play with all specific equipment needs.

Today's rehearsal will be a straight "run through" of musical numbers to polish the music side of the show. Then we will run the show. Dinner is taken care of for tonight by Ms. Siano. Please thank her afterwards.
