Place: The Irma V. Miller Memorial Award – $75.00

rd Place: The Jan Benson Memorial Award – $50.00

th Place: The Ivy Jacobsen Memorial Award – $25.00

Winners and finalists will perform at the LIFC Competition Recital
Sunday, March 9, 2014, 2:00 pm at the Half Hollow Hills Library, Dix Hills.


Rules:



This flute competition is open to all Long Island flutists in grades 10 – 12 who have not previously won 1st place in the LIFC Competition.



Any NYSSMA level VI solo is acceptable for audition. The number of movements must satisfy the
NYSSMA requirements for an All-State audition.

Works with piano parts must be accompanied.


Previous contestants must enter on a different solo each year.


Previous winners who have not fulfilled their pledge promise to the LIFC Winner’s Recital may not apply.


All entrants and their private instructors must be LIFC members in good standing, with dues paid for the

2013 – 2014 year. To become a member go to: www.longislandfluteclub.org


You and your accompanist must be available to accommodate any assigned audition time for both the
preliminary round (approximately 9 am – 5 pm) as well as the final round (approximately 11 am – 4 pm).

In the event 2 or more applicants place in the competition and perform on the same solo, the higher ranking place winner will perform his/her solo at the recital; the other contestant(s) must perform an alternate solo.

Brass Ensemble Veteran's Day Ceremony

Hey Brass,

Our performance is on Monday, 11/11/13, 10:20am at the Veteran's plaza by Chase bank on Main st. in Smithtown.  Same place as last year.

Please remember to wear your Brass Shirts/White collared shirts and black pants and shoes out of respect for the Veterans.

You will also need a music stand and your music binders.  Ceremony begins at 10:45am and you should be done around 11:30am-12:00pm. If you are not familiar with the national anthem, and Liberty collection of songs please review them this weekend.

We did a great job last year so let's be ready to kick it again.
