Jazz Ensemble SCMEA DAY of JAZZ

Dear Students and Parents please note info for SCMEA Jazz Day 2014, Sat., Feb. 8th  Bus will leave HS West @ 8am. 1.) Warm up and performance schedule  2.) Map of HS  3.) Map to Sayville  4.) Workshop Flyer Please register in the Main Entrance upon arrival. Have your students wait on your buses until you have registered. A student will escort you and your group to your warm-up area and then to your performance site. You must take all of your belongings with you when you exit your warm- up room. After you have performed, Island Photography will be available in the cafeteria for group photos. Please remember to have your group picture taken. Have your buses remain in the parking area so that you can store your instruments and possessions after your performance. All groups should bring their own extension cords, and anything else needed for your performance. "We are happy again this year to say that Each Insturmental Performance/Adjudication Room will be equipped with a complete drum set with cymbal stands, guitar amp, bass amp, piano/keyboard. Students need only to bring their own patch cords, cymbals, and bass drum pedal." If you need a second keyboard you will need to bring that along with an amp. Each Vocal Performance/Adjudication Room will be equiped with a piano Please plan on attending the All- County Jazz Concert at 2:00 PM and the Jazz Workshop. 12:45 - The SJRO Workshop: Swing University 101: “The Big Band Meets Ballads & The Singer” presented by Jerry Weldon, Lauren Kinhan, Tom Manuel and the SCMEA Jazz Repertory Orchestra (SJFO). Sayville Music Boosters for the Arts will be selling refreshments in the cafeteria (food, soda, snacks, etc.) Reminder--- Snow date is March 15, 2014
